COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH AGENCY FOR MEDICAID ENROLLMENT, AND THERAPEUTIC & SUPPORTING SERVICES
Resource Assistance from North Country Community Mental Health includes Medicaid qualification/enrollment, therapeutic services and general clinical supportive services. North Country also can provide Adult Foster Care housing for qualified individuals in their covered counties. North Country Community Mental Health offers mental health and Medicaid Insurance Programs for residents of Antrim, Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Kalkaska, and Otsego Counties in Michigan. UNDERSTANDING YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT

The Americans with Disabilities Act: The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in everyday activities. The ADA prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability just as other civil rights laws prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, and religion. The ADA guarantees that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to enjoy employment opportunities, purchase goods and services, and participate in state and local government programs.

Protection & Advocacy Organization
The Michigan state disability protection and advocacy (P&A) agency is the Michigan Protection & Advocacy Service, Inc. (MPAS). The MPAS is part of the nation's federally-funded Protection and Advocacy system. It provides help to people with disabilities in Michigan to expand and defend their rights, including supporting self-advocacy groups and legal assistance. The MPAS is part of the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN).

These organizations provide free legal assistance for low-income individuals, including help with accessing Social Security and Medicaid benefits.
