For nearly 60 years, Bergmann Center has helped adults with intellectual and
developmental disabilities build friendships, develop life skills, engage in their
communities, and live with greater independence, dignity, and purpose.

Bergmann Center’s Board of Directors represents the heart of our mission and the strength of our community. These dedicated individuals bring professional expertise in finance, fundraising, social work, nonprofit governance, and public service—guiding our organization with integrity, insight, and a shared commitment to inclusion.
Our board members serve as stewards of our legacy and strategic vision.
Their responsibilities include:
•Providing fiduciary oversight and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
•Supporting fundraising and resource development efforts
•Advising on policy, programming, and community partnerships
•Advocating for the rights and inclusion of differently-abled individuals across Northern Michigan
•Collaborating with the CEO and leadership team to advance Bergmann Center’s mission and long-term goals.
